Meet Ambreen Kaur!
A Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with G&G.

It is my belief that humans are wired for connection, that there is a primary and sacred connection with the “self”, which then further translates to the world. Disconnection leads to hopelessness, self-doubt, anxiety and limited access to your strengths. My goal as your therapist is to collaborate with you to safely reconnect to yourself through intention, curiosity, creativity and compassion.

In having lived the experience of both a client and therapist, I have seen the power of externalizing the oppressive ideas that we have been carrying with us. My intuition, humor, genuineness and unconditional positive regard for clients is a beautiful result of my evolving relationship with trauma, and I hope to share that with you.

Professionally, my extensive experience working with victims of violence has solidified my belief in the already existing reservoir of resources clients have. I have worked with complex trauma, PTSD, anxiety, grief, and depression while specializing in understanding the impacts of childhood adverse experiences and adult multiple/single traumatic experiences.

As an immigrant, my approach is centered in increasing agency, self-determination and honoring the cultural context of my clients. My approach is integrative drawing on the techniques and concepts of narrative therapy, humanistic therapy and dialectical behavioral Therapy. I strongly believe in the power of somatic experiencing and leading with a trauma-informed approach to offer my clients the care they need and deserve.

A quote by Michael White I like to live by is “the problem is the problem, the person is not the problem”. It would be an honor to work alongside you to guide you to a place of peace, strength, and happiness.
